Lately, I’ve felt disconnected from God. There has been a lot of change in my life. And I have seen so many hurting people around me that believing God deeply loves them and me feels challenging. But I know who he is. He doesn’t owe us anything. We betrayed him, and he still sent his son to die in our place. It is I who owe the Lord everything, not the other way around. I need to remind myself that no matter what the world and the devil says, God is not mean-spirited or distant. No matter what you have been told, he is not against you, he is for you. God defends his people, and he does not condemn them. He is good, just, and eternally loving.
1 John 4:8 says that “Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.”
So, that means that God is all the things listed in the famous love chapter. I hope you will read this a couple of times to remind yourself who you serve.
(1 Corinthians 13:4-8)
God is patient, God is kind. God does not envy, he does not boast, he is not proud. God does not dishonor others, God is not self-seeking, he is not easily angered, he keeps no record of wrongs. God does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. God always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
God never fails.
I hope that reminds you of the truth and helps you feel his passionate love for you. He wants the best for you, even when it feels painful.
